Spring Update 2025

As I write this, our little family has grown by 50%. The more I stop to meditate on the gift of new life, the more amazing I find it. A little human being, progressing from a wish to a loveable bundle of flesh and cuteness (eventually), and all while I sit here doing none of it. This new life is an excellent reminder of the new life we have in Christ - through nothing of our own doing!

"But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."

Ephesians 2:4-7

Home Assignment

In July, we travelled through the middle of Australia on home assignment - something MAF families do every two years. We were mainly based in Alice Springs and Adelaide. The goal of this trip was to catch up with supporters to fill everyone in on what we're doing, as well as giving people an opportunity to meet us face to face and see who it is they are actually supporting. It was extremely encouraging for us to spend time at various churches and home groups through this time, not to mention taking time to be with each other before our baby was born!

Ooh baby!

On the 25th of August, our little Florence Rose was born. We are so thankful to God for how he has blessed us all. A relatively smooth pregnancy preceded a relatively smooth birth, and we have been enjoying the last five weeks as we settle into family life together. Please be praying for us as her parents, that God will give us his wisdom and patience. Thank you also to those of you who have sent us gifts and words of encouragement.

Prayer

If you are the praying type, we would love it if you could be praying for us in the following ways:

  • Give thanks for God's goodness in gifting us our beautiful daughter.

  • Please be praying for Naomi as she and Flossie learn to spend their days together at home. Pray that Naomi settles well into motherhood.

  • Pray that we are able to finish up in north Queensland well, and that there will be a healthy mix of anticipation for what is next, and determination to keep doing what we are doing while we are still here.

Keep fighting the good fight, dear friends!

Michael, Naomi and Flossie
