The start of this year dealt an agonising blow for the MAF family. A car accident in Arnhem Land took the life of four people, one of them being one of our pilots, Chris. Although his loss leaves a gaping hole in so many hearts, we can rejoice knowing that Chris is with the God he so faithfully served. Below is a video providing a glimpse at the incredible heart Chris had for those he served.

Easing into the Year...

We were very fortunate to be able to start our year off with some time spent with family. We spent a few nights in Melbourne before heading to Alice Springs for Christmas. These adventures were followed by some camping at Second Valley (just south of Adelaide) with Naomi's extended family.

Oh so Wet!

The wet season has brought about its share of challenges as far as flying goes. Still, I find peace and joy in sharing the sky with the afternoon storms and the calm flying conditions which follow.

A couple of our students had flight tests delayed until after the summer break due to adverse weather towards the end of last year. Thankfully, we have three new private pilots flying around the place.

Naomi's World

It's hard to believe that Term 1 of 2025 has almost come to an end - and what a busy 8 weeks it's been! I love teaching my Year 3 class and the students are such a blessing to me. I have also taken on a leadership role within our primary school, and its proving to be a challenging and rewarding learning journey!

Our Harmony Day celebrations last Friday were a highlight of the term for me. It's always fun to have something different happen at school! It was great to see so many students (from Prep to Year 12) wearing orange and participating in different activities throughout the day. Days like this always remind me that school and learning are about so much more than what happens in the classroom. It's a true privilege to be able to invest in the lives of these young people and watch them grow in different ways!

Recently, Michael and I also had the opportunity to speak at our church youth group about being Christians as a young people. It was great to reflect on the experiences of our youth and share insightful (we hope) thoughts. Michael says that it was great to feel young again too!

In other news, we're looking forward to travelling to Victoria and New Zealand in the coming weeks for two weddings. We are excited to celebrate these special occasions with friends and family who we haven't seen in far too long!

I don't ever write, but I love seeing what God is doing in your lives since Bible College Michael and it's great to see the fruitfulness of your lives in what he has you doing. Praying he continues to bless and look after you all and for the new addition to your family that is on the way.
